Dallas Institute offers two programs:  Associate of Applied Science in Funeral Service, and Funeral Director's Program.
Associate of Applied Science Curriculum
The Associate of Applied Science curriculum at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service is designed to meet the prerequisites for licensure and employment in funeral service.  It fulfills the requirements of accreditation and approval agencies.  The curriculum offers both theoretical and practical fundamentals of funeral service.  The program is offered in academic quarters, with each quarter consisting of eleven weeks of study.

Funeral Director's Program Curriculum
The Funeral Director's Program curriculum at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service is designed to meet the prerequisites for licensure and employment in funeral service as a Funeral Director in the States of Texas or Missouri. The curriculum offers both theoretical and practical fundamentals of funeral service. The program is offered in academic quarters, with each quarter consisting of eleven weeks of study. This academic program is designed to meet specific state or professional needs. It is not accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education since it does not include instruction in the following areas: embalming and related science courses and the general education courses. Students graduating from this program are not eligible to take the National Board Examination or any state board examination for which graduation from an ABFSE accredited program is required.

Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program

Articulation Memorandum of Understanding with Ottawa University - Online

An articulation memorandum of understanding is an agreement that sets forth the terms and conditions of students’ transfer from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service to Ottawa University - Online.

Articulation between institutions of higher education means transferring credit for courses and/or programs from one institution to another without misinterpretation. You are responsible for making sure that you are taking the appropriate courses for transfer to another institution.

The ultimate goal of articulation is to help you become an educated and productive student, knowledgeable in your chosen field of study without having to take a course again after you transfer to get credit toward your bachelor's degree.
